The VCF Alevín A team has been honored by Diario Sport and LaLiga for their exemplary behavior during the previous edition of LaLiga FC Futures. This recognition underscores the team’s commitment to sportsmanship and fair play, serving as a model for young athletes in the competition.
When you win a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals of Spain’s most important U12 tournament against a direct rival, and after celebrating, the first thing you do is comfort the opposing team’s players. That spontaneous gesture by the VCF Alevín A players after eliminating Villarreal CF in the last LaLiga FC Futures tournament was honored at the 7th Gala Valores del Deporte by Diario Sport, held this Wednesday in Madrid.
LaLiga's General Director, Jorge de la Vega, presented this recognition to a delegation from VCF Alevín A, consisting of coaches Nacho Tarín and Carlos Montoya, along with players Josep Carbonell and Carles Carbonell. They expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment of their act of Germanor (brotherhood), which highlighted their greatness both on the pitch—by winning the LaLiga FC Futures—and off the pitch, by embodying the philosophy of the VCF Academy: Sentiment, Valentia i Germanor (Emotion, Courage, and Brotherhood).
While accepting the award, the coaches and players of VCF Alevín A also took a moment to honor all Valencians affected by the DANA storm.
“Germanor is part of Valencia CF's DNA and one of the three pillars we focus on in the VCF Academy. Germanor is not only about supporting teammates but also showing respect to opponents. It’s also deeply rooted in the identity of Valencians, as we’ve seen in recent days with the acts of solidarity and Germanor demonstrated by Valencian society and the support coming from across Spain for those affected by the DANA. We wanted to dedicate this moment to them as well.”
