An update on the wellbeing of Valencia star Mouctar Diakhaby has come to the fore on Tuesday. And the news will no doubt be met with a collective smile on the part of all associated with the club.
This comes amid confirmation that Diakhaby’s recovery is coming along as well as could possibly be hoped.
The Guinean, of course, was at the heart of an incident to forget early in March.
As much came upon Diakhaby, during a meeting with Real Madrid, picking up a gruesome knee injury, following a completely accidental collision with Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Subsequent tests revealed the most severe of injuries imaginable, with some specialists having gone as far as to question whether or not the defender would even be able to walk again.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then Diakhaby looks increasingly likely to go on to make a full recovery.
As per a report from Relevo, the 27-year-old, on Tuesday, returned to Lyon, for a visit to Dr. Sonnery Cottet – the surgeon who carried out his operation last month.
The original plan was for this trip to include a 2nd minor procedure, to gain an understanding of precisely how Diakhaby’s knee was healing.
So happy were Cottet and his team, however, that they have come to the conclusion that such action is in fact not required.
Valencia’s defensive stalwart, in turn, will remain in Lyon for the coming three weeks as part of his rehabilitation process, before returning to Spain next month.
