Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund was certainly in a good mood after breaking his drought on Sunday evening, reiterating how much he enjoys playing alongside his teammates.

Over the past few months, the Dane’s struggles depicted a club in full crisis, as he failed to find the back of the net in 21 matches in a row across all competitions.

Nevertheless, the young bomber was showing some encouraging signs as of late, even if that precious goal continued to elude him. For instance, he provided a wonderful assist for Diogo Dalot to kill off Real Sociedad in last Thursday’s Europa League contest.

Perhaps that proved to be a morale booster for Hojlund who wasn’t afraid to go for goal with his weaker right foot when the opportunity presented itself at King Power, thus breaking the deadlock as well as his personal drought. This strike put Man Utd on the right course as they went on to claim a 3-0 win over the faltering Leicester City.

In this particular case, the former Atalanta man was given the nod ahead of Joshua Zirkzee. Nevertheless, the two players have played side by side on several occasions in recent weeks, especially following Amad Diallo’s injury.

When asked to comment on this partnership, the Denmark international insisted it’s a combination that he enjoys, especially since the two of them have different attributes.

“Obviously we didn’t get to play too much together at the beginning of the season, but now he’s starting to play in a different role or position, so playing together with him is very nice,” noted the striker in his post-match interview via The Mirror.

“I think competition is a good thing, but I think we also support each other’s qualities very well. I love playing with all my teammates.”

Hojlund is considered an out-and-out striker, whereas Zirzkee prefers to roam all over the pitch and help in the buildup, even though Amorim has been publicly urging him to turn his attention towards bagging ‘ugly’ goals.
