Chelsea’s U18 team are in action right now against Leicester, and they’ve scored a quite incredible goal to go 1-0 up.
You’d be delighted with this at senior level, let alone at Under-18 level with a team made up of players from the Under-15 and Under-16s. Enzo Maresca would be proud – the team play it all the way out from the goalkeeper, drawing in the press then playing through midfield with a quick exchange which gets in behind the Foxes midfield.
Left back Harry McGlinchey gets released down the left and plays a lovely low cross which wonderkid sensation Ibrahim Rabbaj is on hand to finish off. The goal gets superb reaction from those watching, as you’d expect. Even the Leicester fans have to appreciate what they’ve just seen.
You can see the superb goal from the team in the clip from Chelsea TV embedded here:

Young Rabbaj is just starting to bubble up as a hyped wonderkid. We don’t want to put early pressure on him but moments like this are only going to feed the excitement. Various crazy stats have been doing the rounds about his goals and assists at youth level – and it seems like stepping up to the Under-18s isn’t going to slow him down.
It’s always hard to verify stats from youth games (and score lines there do tend to be very high) but the Sun claimed he had 52 goals and 60 assists in 40 games.
They also say he loves “creating, passing, making things happen and scoring,” with his exceptional one on one ability leading to comparisons with L****l M***i (we don’t want to say it… give the kid a chance).
He’s one to keep an eye on – we expect we’ll be posting a few more of his goals before too long.
