Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a timely updated on Chelsea’s attempts to try and sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

It was just after Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City on the opening game of the new Premier League season, a game where many Chelsea fans had been saying once again that Chelsea lack a true clinical number 9 – an issue they have had for some time now.

Osimhen would be seen as the perfect solution for many Chelsea fans to come in and do that job, but is there any chance of them landing him this window?

Time is running out

The clock is ticking as we head towards the end of August and the end of the transfer window now, but Romano says Chelsea are still pushing for Osimhen.

As you can see in the video above, Romano says:

“As of today, Chelsea still see Victor Osimhen as a loan opportunity. As we know the player will only go with an obligation so let’s see if Chelsea can find a way and if other clubs jump in the race. Story remains open.”
