Kylian Mbappe’s performance against Liverpool was far from ideal, as he missed a crucial penalty in Real Madrid’s 0-2 defeat. However, the disappointment did not end there.
After the match at Anfield, the French forward was seen limping, which added further concern to an already frustrating night.
It was a match where Mbappe’s offensive contribution was minimal, and missing the penalty in such a significant moment only amplified the struggles.
But the bad news for Mbappe didn’t stop on the pitch. As the game ended, Mario Cortegana captured a video of the striker leaving the stadium with a noticeable limp, accompanied by teammates Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga, both of whom had been forced off with injuries during the match.
While the limp could simply be due to muscle overload, the sight of the French forward struggling to walk raised alarm bells at Real Madrid.
It is understood that Real Madrid are hoping that Mbappe’s condition is not serious, as he is an important part of their squad, especially now that Vinicius Jr. is unavailable too.
Despite not having the season many had expected from him, Mbappe remains one of the key attacking players for Carlo Ancelotti’s team. This is especially true given the injuries to Vinicius and Rodrygo, and the limited opportunities for young talent Endrick.
So far, Mbappe has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances. While his statistics are not poor, it’s the overall impression he leaves on the pitch that is troubling.
His performance has not reflected the level of form that fans and critics have come to expect from one of the world’s top talents. The pressure is building, and it remains to be seen whether he can regain his best form in the coming weeks.
