A star Liverpool paid over £50m for has seen a visa problem complicate his move to Turkish side Hatayspor on Turkey’s deadline day.
Turkish sides are stepping up their transfer activity on the final day of the window in the country and Hatayspor are no different.
They finished in 15th spot in the Turkish Super Lig last term and are keen to strengthen while they still can.
Work is ongoing to sign former Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita, who is available following falling out of favour at German side Werder Bremen.
However, ‘visa problems’ mean that Keita cannot now fly to Turkey, according to Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun.
As a result, Hatayspor have sent a doctor to Germany in order to put the ex-Red through a medical in the country.
If the tests are passed without an issue, then Hatayspor will sign Keita on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
Liverpool paid over £50m to sign Keita from German outfit RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018.
His time at Anfield was plagued by injuries and he departed Liverpool having only started 49 Premier League matches.
All eyes will be on whether the midfielder, who was highly rated by Jurgen Klopp, can get his career back on track in Turkey if the move is pushed over the line.
