Burnley conducted some intriguing transfer business in the summer window, bringing in players from quite left field locations compared to what we are used to seeing from newly relegated clubs in the Championship.
The Clarets have arguably looked like the most convincing side in the second tier in terms of booking a place in the automatic promotion spots come the end of the season.
Vitinho was picked up from Cercle Brugge on a four-year deal and has adjusted to the second tier of English football very quickly.
The 23-year-old has showcased his versatility in playing at right back, left back and as a right midfielder, to become one of Vincent Kompany’s most dependable players after just 16 games of the season.
Vitinho took to Instagram to reflect on the very exciting start to the season that he and the team have made.
He wrote: “Come watch a game from the inside field!
“This video from our last home game shows what the weather is like around here.
“This beginning in England has been of many joys, struggles and learning.
“But I want much more.
“I’m here to realize my dreams and nothing will take away my will to get there!”
The Clarets have kicked on where Sheffield United and Norwich City have dropped off since the international break, with their recruitment starting to reflect very well on Kompany and the other decision makers at the club.

Vitinho would have been forgiven an extended transition period at Turf Moor, entering such a competitive environment in terms of competition for places and a change in the kind of opposition you would typically come across in the Jupiler League.
Ian Maatsen started the season in flying form for the Clarets, and there would have been concerns that a drop-off would be suffered in terms of the attacking threat that they held down the left flank as a result, but Vitinho has stepped in seamlessly and the emergence of Anass Zaroury as a regular starter has Kompany’s men looking more dangerous than ever.
