The weather’s getting colder, the nights are drawing in and things are getting pretty serious in England’s top flight.

We’ll soon be finding out who has officially been named Premier League Player of the Month for October but in the meantime, here are Onefootball’s unofficial nominations for the award.

Kevin De Bruyne

When you consider the form he’s been in and the plaudits he’s received, it’s hard to believe the Manchester City man is yet to pick up an individual award this season but Liverpool’s Sadio Mané scooped the prize for August and Tottenham’s Harry Kane had a terrific September.

But if you ask us, October belonged to De Bruyne and the Belgian was borderline unplayable at times, just ask Stoke City!

Harry Kane

Just because September was a particularly excellent month for the Spurs hit-man doesn’t mean he took his foot off the pedal in October and Kane is a strong contender for this accolade for the second month running.

Four goals in three games last month led to Pep Guardiola unfairly labelling the Lilywhites “the Harry Kane team” but when you consider they lost both of the games he missed through injury last week, perhaps Pep had a semblance of a point.

Pascal GroĂź

The ÂŁ2.7 million Brighton spent on bringing the German midfielder to the Premier League in the summer looks like more and more of a snip with each passing week.

GroĂź notched up three assists in October taking his tally to five for the season, which is the third best in the league.

Ashley Young

Young’s performances for Manchester United in October flew under the radar somewhat until his excellent display in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Spurs.

The utility man was a key reason United managed three clean sheets in their last four Premier League games and has become a very reliable member of José Mourinho’s squad. And, unlike Dele Alli, he’s won the Prem!
