MIAMI, Florida – The two spots out of Group B of League A to the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup will be decided on Sunday when Guatemala host Jamaica in their Road To W Gold Cup finale at the Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Currently, Guatemala sit in second-place in the group with four points through three matches, while Jamaica are in third with two points after two matches. Both teams trail group leaders Panama, who finished their campaign with seven points.
Guatemala are still in the running for a first-place finish in the group, and with that, a spot in the 2024 W Gold Cup group stage. Las Chapines would need a victory over the Reggae Girlz by a five-goal margin to make that happen.
A Guatemala win by four goals or fewer or a draw would result in a second-place finish for Guatemala and a place in the W Gold Cup Prelims, while Panama would secure the group stage spot.
Should Jamaica come away with the three points from Guatemala City, they would earn the place in the W Gold Cup Prelims.
In the last meeting between these two nations, each side held a lead before settling for a 2-2 draw in Kingston during the October window.
Guatemala will turn to their attacking weapons in hopes of a magical night. Ana Martinez has two goals on the campaign, while Leslie Ramirez and Aisha Solorzano have each contributed scores.
Jamaica have gotten goals from Shaneil Buckley and Melissa Johnson in this RTWGC, while Mikayla Dayes has been a playmaker, contributing two assists.
