According to L’Équipe, Warren Zaïre-Emery (18) has returned to Paris Saint-Germain first-team training ahead of the Ligue 1 leaders’ midweek UEFA Champions League clash against Girona.
Zaïre-Emery was injured during France’s 3-1 defeat against Italy at the Parc des Princes earlier this month. The calf injury put his participation in PSG’s Champions League opener against La Liga side Girona at risk. However, whilst the midfielder did miss Les Parisiens’ 3-1 victory over Stade Brestois on Saturday, L’Équipe report that he was involved in a training session on Sunday.
It is therefore possible that Zaïre-Emery will at least be included in the matchday squad to face Girona, at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. It is a boost for PSG, who may have to do without Vitinha against Girona. The Portuguese midfielder was also injured during the international break and his ankle problem may see him miss the match in midweek. Monday’s training session at Le Campus will be crucial in determining his participation.
