Footage of two leading figures at La Liga giants Barcelona saying their goodbyes to a departing member of the club’s squad has today been forthcoming online.

For those who may have missed it, a major piece of transfer news surrounding Barcelona surfaced late on Friday evening.

This came by way of confirmation, out of the blue, that midfielder Oriol Romeu had reached an agreement to depart with immediate effect.

Despite widespread reports that the Spaniard had done enough to convince the Barca coaching staff of his readiness to contribute over the season ahead, it was revealed that Romeu would be moving on with immediate effect.

The 32-year-old is set to join Girona, on loan for 2024/25.

Romeu, in turn, packed his bags late last night, ahead of flying back to Spain, to link back up with his former teammates at the Estadi Montilivi.

And, en route, the one-time Southampton man was bid a fond farewell by two headline Blaugrana figures.
