And here’s why you should be tuning in.

Tuesday

Since it was announced that Marco Rose would leave Gladbach for Dortmund at the end of the season, he has presided over three defeats on the bounce.

Dortmund, meanwhile, have won all three of their games, including wins in the Champions League and a local derby with Schalke.

The Rose situation aside, both clubs are having disappointing seasons and, with Bayern Munich already out, will fancy their chances of going all the way.

Tuesday also should’ve seen second tier outfit Jahn Regensburg meet Werder Bremen but that has been postponed after Regensburg confirmed a number of coronavirus cases.

Wednesday

The giantkillers meet each other for a place in the semi-final. And who won’t be thrilled to see at least one lower tier club  make it that far?

Rot-Weiss Essen beat Bayer Leverkusen to reach this stage, while Holstein Kiel have won back-to-back penalty shootouts against Bayern Munich and then Darmstadt.

One of them will end this match just 90 minutes from the final.

Second and third in the Bundesliga right now, this one promises to be a cracker.

These two have the best defences in Germany, with Leipzig conceding just 20 Bundesliga goals so far this season and Wolsburg (19) the only side with a better record.

But that doesn’t mean there won’t be goals. Their last meeting ended 2-2 and they’ve each won six of their last seven Bundesliga games.

You really could argue whoever wins this will be the favourites.
