“It’s been a while with my injury and stuff so I’m happy with the goals and I’m happy with the win today as well. It was a must-win match here at home, and it was an amazing night," he said.

“It was great to celebrate in front of the supporters. I have been out for a while with my rehab and did everything I could to return stronger. Scoring today and getting the win feels brilliant.”

Describing his goals, he added: “[Davis] had a shot on target with the goalkeeper and I was there. It was right on my foot and I smashed it into the goal. It was an easy one so I’m happy to have scored!

“For sure, my second goal was on target! I guess you need to have a bit of luck in football, so it was good.”

Fans react to Sema's interview

Plenty of fans were quick to praise Sema for embracing his stammer and speaking to the media.

"He is my new footballing hero," said one.

"Absolutely amazing. Top man," stressed another.

A third added: "What a boy. Just became a huge Ken Sema fan."

Meanwhile, a fourth pointed out: "In his second language too. Rate this so highly."

A fifth wrote: "This is wonderful. He must be having a huge impact on kids suffering from the same thing. What a man."

Sema's fine season continues

Aside from his recent injury, which kept him sidelined for seven games, Sema has enjoyed a fine season to date – registering 11 goals and assists in the Championship so far.

Having joined the Hornets in 2018, he is on track for his best scoring season in England and will hope to help Watford gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Yet, regardless of his on-field exploits, Sema is no doubt an inspiration to many and his bravery is truly something to behold.
