‘We sold Oh, MJ and Lawal for the price of Idah. I’m happy with that trade,’ a poster on Kerrydale Street noted today on a thread on Adam Idah, which is currently discussing the negativity surrounding the Celtic striker who signed from Norwich City for a fee of around £9.5m in the summer…

Adam Idah having a rough time, but don’t worry he’ll come good.

Yes, it’s true that Adam Idah hasn’t had the best of starts since his reported £9.5 million move to Celtic. The Irish international has looked a big sluggish and off the pace it has to be said, and that form seemed to more evident over the weekend for his country in the Nations League tie against England.

However before everyone starts getting on his back, don’t fret as he’ll come good after having a few more games under his belt. Adam missed the Celtic pre-season, he’s a big guy and needs time to get himself back to the fitness levels he was at during his loan spell at Celtic. He is perhaps carrying a few pounds too many but that will get sorted at Lennoxtown and Kyogo will start until he’s fully up to speed.

Adam proved last year what a talented player he was and was one of the main reasons behind our double success. And just his fitness, the form that made him a favourite amongst the Celtic supporters will come back, of that I have no doubt. He just needs a bit of time to get up to speed.

This international break will have done him the world of good fitness wise, and give him some much needed game time in a bid to get his sharpness back. What he doesn’t need is the support getting on his back, as often happened at Norwich City. When he had the Celtic support fully behind him he repaid that support with rich dividends. Let’s not forget that. And remember too that he was personally selected to play for Celtic by Brendan Rodgers whose viewpoint was backed by the Celtic Board in sanctioning such a large transfer fee.

When you consider the observation from Hagi Bhoy on Kerrydale Street and if you take the numbers out if it, trading Oh, Mikey Johnston and Bosun Lawal for a striker who helped win the league and scored the 90th winner in the Scottish Cup final against theRangers is a clever trade.

Adam will come back fitter and raring to go, and ready to play his part as we bid to have yet more success this campaign. Next week he will be looking to play his part in a Champions League match for the first time and usually on the big occasions for Celtic he delivers.

Here’s Hagi Bhoy’s post, it’s hard to disagree with a word of this…

We sold Oh, MJ and Lawal for the price of Idah. I’m happy with that trade. People have zero patience and short memories these days. The big man will be fine and in the meantime Kyogo is looking terrific so far this season.

Meanwhile here’s the Luke McCowan fan media media conference the new signing giving The Celtic Star an insight into what actually happened on deadline day and when he eventually found out that he was heading to Celtic…
