Werder Bremen have decided against signing 23-year-old attacking-midfielder Sarpreet Singh from Bayern Munich, according to Kicker.
Following a medical examination, it emerged that a pubic bone inflammation would keep the New Zealand international sidelined for around three to four months. Instead, Singh will undergo rehabilitation in Munich.
There had been an agreement between Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich for Singh to join the newly-promoted side for a reported €400,000, a transfer that will no longer take place.
Singh spent last season on loan at 2. Bundesliga Jahn Regensburg where he scored five and created eight in 25 league games.
Making his Bundesliga debut under Hansi Flick in 2019, Singh has played just 72 minutes of football at Bayern Munich since his move from Wellington Phoenix in 2019 and is entering the final year of his contract.
Werder Bremen have signed Niklas Stark (Hertha Berlin), Amos Pieper (Arminia Bielefeld) and Dikeni Salifou (Augsburg) all on free transfers so far this summer.
