Dino Toppmöller describes upcoming opponents Bremen as an “exciting challenge”. The boss also issues an injury update, assesses Werder and shares his thoughts on Omar Marmoush.

Head coach Dino Toppmöller on …

… personnel: “Aurèle Amenda has unfortunately picked up an injury and will miss out. Things are looking good for Arthur Theate, but Oscar Højlund isn’t ready for the squad yet. The same goes for Rasmus Kristensen. Hugo Larsson has had recurring problems with his thigh but is available for the squad.” … upcoming opponents Werder Bremen: “We know how strong Bremen are away from home and what they can bring to the pitch. We’re facing a team who want to play football, have very good patterns of play in attack, know exactly what they want to do with the ball, and with a goalkeeper who is good with his feet. Off the ball, Bremen press high in a very man-oriented manner – we’ll need to find solutions for that. It’s going to be an exciting challenge for our players. We’re well prepared and we’re all looking forward to the game.”

… Omar Marmoush: “I’m not planning on resting him. He was given a little break in Egypt [on international duty], which did him a lot of good. We’ll obviously look to manage his workload in the coming weeks, but Omar looks fresh and made a good impression in our final training session.”

… Mario Götze ahead of his 100th competitive Eintracht appearance: “Of course I expect Mario Götze to score tomorrow! He scored on his 300th Bundesliga appearance - a milestone - so he’s also capable of scoring on his 100th game for Eintracht. He’s a great lad who makes an outstanding contribution.”

… his birthday on Saturday: “My parents and my parents-in-law will be in the stadium. We’ve put a lot of effort into preparations for the Bremen game this week. Our game plan and personnel are decided, so I’ll be able to start the day in relaxed fashion with my family. I’ll head to the ProfiCamp after breakfast and turn my full attention to the game.”

… Robin Koch starting for Germany in midweek: “Robin Koch has developed really well here from day one and is leading by example on the pitch. We’re obviously proud that he’s back in the national team and that he’s getting his minutes.”
