Hammers forced into change in defence
West Ham have confirmed their starting lineup for tonight’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth.
As expected, Emerson Palmieri is absent because of suspension after being booked during the 2-1 win over Wolves, taking his tally of yellow cards up to five for the season.
With the Italian international missing, Vladimir Coufal gets the nod over Aaron Cresswell which could mean Aaron Wan-Bissaka moves over to left-back in the starting lineup for the trip to the south coast.
Whilst Niclas Fullkrug is fit to start, the Germany international is named among the substitutes once again as Jarrod Bowen leads the line and will be supported in attack by Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus.
The Hammers recorded a crucial win over Wolves a week ago, but it will likely do little to silence those who doubt Julen Lopetegui after an underwhelming start to his tenure.
Michail Antonio is facing a significant period out of action after requiring surgery on a lower limb fracture sustained in a road traffic accident earlier this month.
West Ham XI: Fabianski, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Coufal, Alvarez, Soler, Soucek, Paqueta, Bowen, Kudus.
Subs: Areola, Summerville, Fullkrug, Guillherme, Ings, Irving, Casey, Scarles, Orford
Time and date: 8pm GMT on Monday December 16 2024
Venue: Vitality Stadium (Dean Court)
TV channel and live stream: Sky Sports
