According to an exclusive report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Nayef Aguerd (28) has rejected an advance from VfL Wolfsburg. The Bundesliga side were keen to secure the West Ham defender, however, were met with a refusal from the player.
Foot Mercato reports that multiple clubs are interested in the Moroccan international who made 28 appearances last season for the London club across all competitions and even scored twice (once in the Premier League and once in the Europa League).
It’s been clear with West Ham’s busy summer that they will need to sell. Aguerd has been an obvious option, especially with the arrival of Jean-Clair Todibo (24) and Max Kilman (27) meaning that playing time will be at a minimum this season for the Moroccan centre-back.
Earlier in the summer, Lille had looked at bringing Aguerd back to Ligue 1 with the club in need of a Leny Yoro (18) replacement. However, they ultimately recruited Aïssa Mandi (32) from Villarreal.
