England travel to Greece in a must-win UEFA Nations League clash this evening. Defeat to Greece last month leaves the Three Lions in need of a positive result as England look to claim promotion back to the top tier.

Lee Carsley leads the side for the final time this month, ahead of Thomas Tuchel’s takeover in the New Year. The 50-year-old has seen his options decimated by nine withdrawals, including Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

After an experimental side lost to Greece at Wembley in October, Carsley must find the right formula in Athens this time around. England are three points behind Greece in the group and know a win by a margin of two or more goals will see them reclaim top spot.

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers, Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Newcastle defender Lewis Hall are in the squad for the first time.

Liverpool’s Curtis Jones will also hope to make his debut after withdrawing from last month’s squad to attend the birth of his first child. Club teammate Jarell Quansah, Newcastle’s Tino Livramento and Burnley’s James Trafford are also uncapped.

Reports this week have suggested Carsley could make the bold call to leave out Harry Kane. Ollie Watkins could be given the nod at the Athens Olympic Stadium, ahead of England’s record scorer.
