An insight into the status of Barcelona star Dani Olmo for the club’s post-international break return to action has on Sunday been provided.

This comes, for those who may have missed it, after the 26-year-old was forced into a premature departure from the Spanish national team camp earlier today.

Owing to a blow suffered during La Roja’s La Liga meeting with Serbia on Thursday, Olmo was put through a round of medical tests over the last 24 hours.

And as much confirmed that the attacking midfielder was not in a fit state to contribute against Switzerland later tonight.

Olmo, in turn, has since returned to base in Catalunya’s capital.

Those of a Barcelona persuasion worried that their side’s marquee summer signing may be facing up to any kind of extended spell out of action, however, need not fret.

This comes amid the assurance that the former RB Leipzig man should be fit and ready to face Girona next weekend.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘If there are no major setbacks, the player from Terrassa should be recovered and available to Hansi Flick to face Girona on September 15 in Montilivi.’
