Premier League stars from the “recent past” to take part in North vs South showdown

North England FC will take on their South England counterparts in a match between former Premier League players this summer.

The game is scheduled for a 4pm GMT kick-off time on Sunday June 1, 2025.

The Valley, Charlton Athletic’s stadium, will host.

Who is playing?

It has been confirmed that each squad will consist of 16 players “from the top-flight’s recent past”.

The players involved will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fowler will be both a player and a manager on the day, with the former Liverpool striker relishing the chance to return to the pitch.

“There is obviously an element of fun to the game but I guarantee this will be competitive and serious because it will be great to beat them,” Fowler said.

“This has been an idea in the making for a number of years. It’s a great concept that I hope everyone gets behind. The battle between North and South will always be there, the rivalry will always be there and there can only be one winner, hopefully it will be us.”

General admission tickets for adults are priced at £15, with over 65s able to attend for £10 and tickets for children under the age of 18 costing £5.

An allocation of tickets will be given to a charity partner, as well as the Charlton Athletic Community Trust.
