When is the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner announced?

The 2024 Ballon d’Or will be awarded later this month with football’s finest talents competing for the ultimate individual honour.

A new name is set to take the honour in 2024, with current holder and eight-time winner Lionel Messi not included on the shortlist. Five-time champion Cristiano Ronaldo has also been excluded.

When is the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony?

The 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held on Monday 28th October at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

It will be the 68th edition of the award, which will be co-organised by UEFA in 2024, with France Football retaining the voting system.

The ceremony will begin at 19:00 GMT.

Who are the favourites for the 2024 Ballon d’Or?

Vinicius Junior is the current favourite to take the Ballon d’Or, following his role in Real Madrid’s double success last season. A crucial part of the club’s Champions League triumph, he leads the 30-player shortlist for the men’s award.

Rodri, who won the Premier League with Manchester City was named Player of the Tournament as Spain won Euro 2024, is also under consideration.

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is another frontrunner, as is another member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, Dani Carvajal. The right-back is an outside chance after winning the Champions League, La Liga and Euro 2024.

In the Ballon d’Or Feminin 2024, Aitana Bonmati is the favourite to make it back-to-back awards. The Barcelona midfielder is considered the frontrunner ahead of club teammate Caroline Graham Hansen and Lyon’s Kadidiatou Diani.

Who are the 2024 Kopa Trophy favourites?

The 2024 Kopa Trophy winner will also be announced, handed to the best player in the world aged 21 or under. It would be a seismic shock if Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal did not claim the award following his performances in Spain’s success at the European Championship.

Manchester United pair Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo are on the 10-player shortlist.

Who are the 2024 Yashin Trophy favourites?

The Yashin Trophy will also be presented to the best goalkeeper. Emiliano Martinez is the current holder and in contention for successive triumphs, after helping Aston Villa to Champions League qualification and Argentina to Copa America success in the summer.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is the only other former winner on the shortlist, with no place for Alisson or Thibaut Courtois.
