Despite the fact that the transfer window is closed until January, Queens Park Rangers are seemingly set to bolster their squad by turning to the free-agency market for inspiration.

According to Football Insider, Elijah Dixon-Bonner has agreed to sign a contract with the Championship side which runs until the end of the season.

Dixon-Bonner is currently on the lookout for a new club after leaving Liverpool earlier this year and was recently handed a trial by QPR.

Ahead of the 21-year-old’s move to Loftus Road, we have decided to take a closer look at his career to date…

Dixon-Bonner began his youth career at Arsenal before sealing a move to Liverpool in 2015 at the age of 14.

In 2019, the midfielder helped the Reds win the FA Youth Cup final by scoring a spot-kick in their penalty shoot-out with Manchester City.

Dixon-Bonner made his senior debut for Liverpool in February 2020 as he was introduced as a substitute in their FA Cup clash with Shrewsbury Town.

After achieving this personal milestone, Dixon-Bonner would have been hoping to feature regularly at senior level during the following campaign.

However, due to the competition for places at Anfield, the midfielder only made two senior appearances last season.

Instead of extending Dixon-Bonner’s stay, Liverpool opted to part ways with him earlier this year.

Whereas the former Reds man lacks experience at senior level, he has managed to make 48 appearances in the Premier League 2 Division 1.

Capable of playing in a number of different midfield roles, Dixon-Bonner will add some versatility to QPR’s squad.

Invited to participate in a trial at the club last month, the midfielder has seemingly impressed head coach Mick Beale who worked alongside him during his time at Liverpool.

Beale recently suggested that Dixon-Bonner possesses a similar skillset to Luke Amos.

Providing that this deal is completed, it will be interesting to see whether Dixon-Bonner will be able to force his way into QPR’s match-day squad for their upcoming league fixtures.
