Borussia Dortmund's social media accounts announced Nuri Sahin's departure from his managerial role earlier today. The decision came with absolutely no surprise to BVB fans once Dortmund's former player found himself in the hot seat after an inconsistent run in the 2024/2025 season.
With a premature elimination from the Pokal and a current tenth-place finish in the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League campaign was the last straw holding Sahin as BVB manager. However, the Turkish coach did not resist yesterday's defeat to Bologna, which could potentially prevent Dortmund from qualifying for the top eight League Phase.
Now, Sahin parted ways with the club with an immediate effect. He finished his campaign with 11 wins, 4 draws, and 11 losses in all competitions. The U-19 coach, Mike Tullberg, will be on the bench against Werder Bremen on Saturday until the board can appoint a substitute for Sahin. But who is next?
