Brentford supporters would not have expected to be 1-0 up after 22 seconds at the Etihad.
Even Brentford boss Thomas Frank was speaking to the media about how difficult their game away at Manchester City would be this weekend, in an attempt to temper supportersâ expectations.
Yet even without striker Ivan Toney, the Bees took the lead early through Yoane Wissa.
In the blink of an eye, Wissa headed home from point-blank range after a miscommunication at the back by Manchester City.
Whether the scoreline stays that way is another matter altogether, but at least the away section have had something to cheer.
