This January 6 is a very significant day for Karla Martínez, as in addition to starting a new tournament with Chivas Femenil, she has a very important memory in her career as a Rojiblanca.
The Mexico City-born defender arrived at Guadalajara in the final stretch of the 2022 season, with the goal of strengthening the Rebaño squad for the 2023 Clausura. After a full preseason with the Guadalajara squad, on January 6, 2023, Karla Martínez made her official debut in a Chivas Femenil shirt.
It was Day 1 of the Clausura 2023 when Guadalajara hosted Pumas at the Akron. On that night, the Rojiblancas overwhelmed the Felinas with a resounding 5-1 win, thanks to a hat-trick by Alicia Cervantes and goals by Kinberly Guzmán and Carolina Jaramillo.
Martinez started the match as a substitute and it was not until the 80th minute of the match that she entered the field, taking the place of Araceli Torres. Since that moment, the lanky defender of the Rebaño has not stopped growing soccer wise and has been used as a right back and also as a central defender.
Her good performances with the Chiverío even catapulted her to the Tri Mayor, making her debut on December 5, 2023 in Mexico's victory over Trinidad and Tobago.
Karla Martinez has been with Chivas Femenil for two years now, and we hope that many more will come, full of success and soccer growth.
