Why Leicester should try to re-sign Dewsbury-Hall

Article image:Why Leicester should try to re-sign Dewsbury-Hall

The King Power club made the difficult decision to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea for a fee of £30m in the summer to help meet Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) ahead of their return to the Premier League. Foxes supporters at the time were distraught with the choice to give up such a promising homegrown talent.

'KDH' himself is likely feeling the worst end of the transfer deal. The English midfielder has been featured thrice for the London-based Blues in the EPL and more in the UEFA Conference League. By comparison, when at the East Midlands side in the Championship, the academy graduate accumulated 44 out of 46 possible appearances by the end of the campaign. Moving to Chelsea has meant little time to shine and develop.

Why Leicester City should resign KDH

The reasoning behind a want to resign the former star is obvious. Leicester City would do better with a player who can defend, link-up well with teammates, and can create opportunities on goal. Not to mention how often 'KDH' would contribute by scoring or assisting for the Foxes. That all-round contribution to the team is the exact kind of player a Steve Cooper would need to have any chance of success.

This is why we have seen manipulations to the way Abdul Fatawu plays, why the King Power club are interested in Mostafa Mohamed, and why the current system prioritises a level of flexibility in midfield and on the wings to support the defence. KDH is the perfect addition to that team. Imagine a midfield of Harry Winks, KDH, and Facundo Buonanotte: a mix of immaculate passing, creativity, and devastating clinical instinct on goal.
