England manager Thomas Tuchel is having doubts about giving Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly a debut Three Lions call-up next week, according to the Sun.

The Gunners academy graduate has forced his way into the plans of manager Mikel Arteta, and a season-ending injury to Newcastle United full-back Lewis Hall was supposed to boost his chances of receiving his first senior England call-up.

However, Tuchel may have other ideas as he feels Lewis-Skelly is not ready to play for his team despite his 23 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions so far in 2024-25.

The German has been monitoring the versatile 18-year-old ahead of a potential call-up following his breakthrough campaign at the North London club, but he has some reservations over his age and lack of experience.

The Hale End product has been sent off twice this season, and Arteta was left with no choice but to withdraw him 34 minutes into the 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the first-leg of their Champions League round of 16 fixture on Tuesday after a red card scare.

Lewis-Skelly escaped a second yellow card following a mistimed tackle on PSV winger Richard Ledezma, and it appears the disciplinary aspect of his game has left Tuchel concerned as a red card against the Dutch club would have affected Arsenal.

He was controversially shown a straight red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January after a foul on Matt Doherty was deemed serious foul play, but his suspension was rescinded three days later.

The Arsenal defender was also sent off in the 1-0 defeat to West Ham United for grappling with Mohammed Kudus at the half-way line last month, and he may have to wait for his first-ever Three Lions call-up.

However, Ben White could be recalled to the squad after opting against getting invited to the national team during the final months of the reign of Gareth Southgate, while Ethan Nwaneri is believed to be knocking on the door amid his impressive form for the club.
