Leyton Orient have now failed with two offers for St Mirren midfielder Caolan Boyd-Munce, with Wigan Athletic mulling a bid of their own, according to the Daily Record.

The Os have zeroed in on Boyd-Munce as a player they want to bring to Brisbane Road this summer, but agreeing a deal with St Mirren is proving to be tough.

Now Leyton Orient could have extra competition for Boyd-Munce as Wigan have expressed an interest in the player.

Wigan are now mulling slapping in an offer for the midfielder, but St Mirren are clear they do not need to sell him.

Boyd-Munce is now moving into the final 12 months of his St Mirren deal, however the club would like to keep him, especially for their approaching Europa Conference League games.

Leyton Orient finished in eleventh spot in the League One table last term, while Wigan were a place behind in the standings.

It is unclear if Boyd-Munce has a preference between the two English clubs.

The Belfast-born midfielder has been capped by Northern Ireland at senior international level.
