Wigan sack Shaun Maloney after two years in charge

Wigan have confirmed that Shaun Maloney has left the club after just over two years as manager.

Maloney joined the Latics in 2023 and despite turbulence off the pitch, has kept the team in League One.

However after their 14th defeat of the campaign to Reading on Saturday, the club have opted the pull the trigger on their head coach.

Glenn Whelan will take interim charge until a permanent coach is found.
