Willem II are considering making an offer to free agent Jean-Paul Boëtius, Voetbal International reports. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wings, has been without a club for a year and a half.

Boëtius trained with sc Heerenveen for a few weeks at the end of last year. Robin van Persie was pleasantly surprised by his former teammate, but an offer did not materialise.

Suspecting that the Frisian club still had doubts about his fitness and ability, Boëtius decided to end the trial period. Just before Christmas, the once-capped Dutch international stated that his phone wasn’t exactly full of offers. This changed with the contact of Willem II.

Tom Caluwé, Technical Director of the Tilburg side, sees Boëtius as a potentially valuable reinforcement for his club and it’s been revealed that the first talks have already taken place.
