As reported by Sport Bild, Wolfsburg are reportedly interested in signing AS Monaco’s Kevin Volland and Inter’s Robin Gosens.

Both Gosens and Volland have been linked with a return to Germany in the past months with Wolfsburg leading the way in singing the duo. However, the interest in both has peaked again with the Wolves aiming to fill the void of departing players.

With first-choice left-back Paulo Otávio leaving on a free transfer alongside young striker Omar Marmoush, Wolfsburg need to find replacements that will be ready to strengthen the side. After narrowly missing out on European football, Wolfsburg have decided to try and add experience to their young squad.

Gosens would add defensive stability while simultaneously providing an attacking threat down the left flank if he is to join as Inter Milan will still be required to purchase him before selling. As for Volland, the 30-year-old striker is a reliable source of goals as he has contributed 53 goals and assists in 115 games for Monaco, while his spell in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen is further proof of his attacking qualities.

Wolfsburg averaged the second youngest side in the Bundesliga last season which meant that consistent form was hard to come by. The combination of experience and quality with a raw and tenacious side could prove to be a handful under a Bundesliga winning manager in Niko Kovač.
