Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing for another busy summer transfer window, and fans will be expecting a number of key players to leave the club.

It has become a familiar pattern over the years – Wolves cash in on key players and then struggle to compete and maintain their place in the Premier League.

Having offloaded a couple of key players last summer, Wolves are no longer walking a tightrope with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

However, their transfer strategy has always been to sign players at a bargain and develop them before cashing in for a significant profit.

That trend is expected to continue in the summer. Matheus Cunha is among those attracting serious interest from some of the top clubs in the Premier League.

He has been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Arsenal, and with a £62.5 million release clause in his contract, there’s a general feeling that Cunha could be the first one out of the door this summer.

However, speculation is also growing about Rayan Ait Nouri.

The Algerian left-back has steadily built a strong reputation since joining Wolves from Angers in 2021, and his performances have caught the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs.

Ait-Nouri has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past, but Italian giants AC Milan have now emerged as one of the frontrunners in the race for his signature.

Per the report, the Rossoneri have already made contact with Ait-Nouri’s representatives and are exploring the possibility of pursuing a summer move.

Ait-Nouri’s agent, Jorge Mendes, could be the key to any potential deal.

Mendes has strong ties with Milan and has played a huge role in several high-profile moves involving the club, including Joao Felix’s loan move from Chelsea.

Wolves do have some leverage in negotiations, as Ait-Nouri’s contract runs until the summer of 2026, with the club holding an option to extend it by another year.

However, Milan could see this as an opportunity to strike a deal before Wolves attempt to tie him down for the foreseeable future.
