According to a report by Ouest France, Wolverhampton Wanderers have sent two offers to FC Nantes for Bastien Meupiyou (18) with one of the bids being valued at around €4 million. However, as it currently stands, Nantes have not yet been convinced.
Despite a knee injury causing Meupiyou to miss most of last season, the young defender represents a highly promising player and has been frequently relied upon during the club’s pre-season friendlies. However, with only one year left on his contract, there is an onus on the club to sell if they cannot convince Meupiyou to extend.
As Ouest France mentions, Meupiyou’s agent is Jorge Mendes who has a good working relationship with the Premier League side. Wolves already feature a variety of his clients with Fábio Silva (22), Gonçalo Guedes (27), and Nélson Semedo (30) all representing the club.
This is not the first time that Meupiyou has gained interest from the Premier League with reports suggesting that Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City were both interested in the defender during the winter transfer window.
