WOMEN, AC MILAN v FIORENTINA: MATCH PREVIEW

AC Milan
·11 April 2025
On Saturday afternoon, AC Milan host Fiorentina at the PUMA House of Football on matchday 6 of the Championship Round. Bakker's side, after a three-week break given the bye-week and then the international break, are preparing to take on De la Fuente's team. Women's Serie A is reaching its climax, and this game could see the Rossonere get closer to fourth place. Here's our preview of the game.
LATEST FROM THE PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL AC Milan go into the game in good form, thanks to the 3-1 win over Roma last time out in Serie A. This result has given the team confidence in a Championship Round, in which the Rossonere have largely proven they can compete with the best. AC Milan, who have lost just once in 2025 (to Juventus), are determined to continue this positive period in the hopes that they can put pressure on this week's opponents, who are just four points ahead of us.
Coach Suzanne Bakker's pre-match thoughts: "For the sixth and last time this season we will face Fiorentina, a team we know well. We know what their qualities are, but we will rely on our own strength. We are determined to bring this match to a good result".
LATEST FROM FIORENTINA In their last game, Fiorentina lost 2-0 to Roma after back-to-back wins against Juventus and Inter. As such, the Viola are looking to bounce back immediately. Despite the recent slip-up, De La Fuente's side have played well recently. The side from Florence, who have played in the Women's Champions League and a Supercoppa final (which they also lost to Roma) this season, go into the game looking to defend their grip on fourth place. This game is a chance to assess both sides' ambitions late in the campaign.
Emma Severini shared her thoughts on the eve of the match: "Our objective is still the same, we want a Champions League spot, and we need to beat AC Milan to do this. They are growing as a team, they are playing well, and it will be a very difficult game".
