Graham Potter cut a frustrated and troubled figure as he spoke to the media ahead of facing Spurs on Sunday.

The West Ham boss appeared in no real mood to be challenged on his recent press conference, where he showcased his anger as West Ham fell apart at Brighton in the dying minutes.

Although Potter wants to shift the attention now to Spurs, it’s looked evident that the pressure of managing West Ham during this torrid season is taking its toll.

“I’m better than I was,” said the boss on his mood at present, as reported by the club’s Official Website. “It would be surprising if I wasn’t upset after how Saturday was. It’s about accepting that, and then moving forward.

“Whenever you come in like we did, you look at the situation at the time and you know there’s going to be challenges. You can see how competitive the league is. When you combine everything – I never thought it would be easy.”

Potter was also questioned on the players mindsets, who will no doubt be desperate to gain a much needed with on Sunday.

“They’re human beings as well, so they’ve been low and disappointed,” said Potter. “But at the same time they’ve been good at how they’ve picked themselves up, and been together.

“We’ve got a big squad, but they’ve shown togetherness. We’re competitive and we want to win, so we have acknowledge the feelings we have, and now we need to show a response.”

Finally the Irons boss gave this thoughts on Spurs, with them also suffering terribly this season domestically.

“They’ve had a tough season, with injuries and other things, and in this league nothing’s forgiven,” added Potter. “They’ve done well in Europe, and will be looking to finish the job in the Europa League.

“The next game is the most important, and then you add on the fact it’s a derby. I feel for the supporters, and we want to try and give them something back. We can talk and talk, but we need to show it.”
