“Would be perfect”: Forward that rejected Manchester City dreams of Liverpool move | OneFootball

Striker Ali Akman has admitted that he chose to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt instead of Manchester City.

The forward will move from Bursaspor to Frankfurt on a free transfer come the summer of 2021.

However, Akman has admitted that his long-term goal is to play for a club like Liverpool.

Akman added that he would also be happy to sign for the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the future.

“First of all, I want to put people in a good mood (at Frankfurt) and play in the Champions League,” says Akman, via Fanatik.

“In the long term, however, I want to play in the Premier League or La Liga.”

Akman added: “Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Barca would be perfect. It isn’t easy to get to those levels, of course. But I have self-confidence.

“I am mentally strong and I am aware of the difficulties I will face. The most important point here is to work more and more every day.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Akman appears to be a player that knows where the back of the net is. The forward has scored 10 goals and registered three assists in 18 appearances for Bursaspor this season.

We love that he dreams of playing for our great club. It means that our club is relevant in the eyes of some players.

However, Akman still has plenty to prove as a player. As Akman is moving to Frankfurt for the 2021-22 season, he will get to play in the Bundesliga.

If Akman can consistently perform in the Bundesliga then Liverpool should consider signing the forward.

The Bundesliga is one of Europe’s best football leagues. Therefore, If Akman can perform for Frankfurt, he will be more prepared for the rigours of the Premier League.
