Wrexham AFC will be daunted by one thing Mike Dodds has already done at Wycombe Wanderers

Wrexham will be daunted by Wycombe's string of clean sheets ahead of their hugely important clash next Saturday.
Wycombe Wanderers bounced back from a disappointing loss at the weekend to Birmingham City by comfortably defeating Burton Albion 2-0 on Tuesday night.
In front of the television cameras, Mike Dodds’ men put on another assured performance on home soil to collect the points in what would be a tough game against a side fighting for their lives in League One.
Wanderers may have felt hard-done-by to have only found the net twice, as plenty of chances were created by the Chairboys, but Max Crocombe put in a great shift to limit the damage for the Brewers. Wycombe also looked assured defensively, keeping their third clean sheet at home in a row.
With a potentially season-defining fixture at home to Wrexham next weekend, keeping three consecutive clean sheets at Adams Park gives the Red Dragons a daunting task of breaking down their promotion rivals on their patch.
Since taking over last month, a common praise of the 38-year-old has been how much he’s solidified Wycombe’s defence. The Chairboys have conceded just three goals in Dodds’ first seven games in charge, which have all come away from home.
Adams Park has been a fortress this season, as the Buckinghamshire side have fallen to defeat just twice on their patch in the league thus far. With Dodds yet to concede at home, this bodes well for the crucial fixture against Phil Parkinson’s side next Saturday.
Wrexham haven’t been as convincing on their travels this season as their promotion rivals, so it seems Wycombe have found some solidity at home at the perfect time of the season. The Wanderers have struggled for creativity after Richard Kone suffered an injury but have received a huge boost now the Ivorian is available for selection.
With that new-found defensive solidity and the return of their top scorer, Wycombe will feel confident ahead of the clash at HP12, knowing they’ll have a bumper crowd behind them. This could be rather daunting for Wrexham, as their opponents will undoubtedly make life difficult.

After Wycombe secured a draw against Peterborough United, who were riding high off the back of making another EFL Trophy final, Wrexham clawed back two points by beating Rotherham United to bring the teams level on points, the Chairboys just ahead on goal difference.
However, the Red Dragons were in action on Tuesday night as they headed 20 minutes down the road from their opponents on Saturday to take on Reading. Victory for Parkinson's side would see them move three points clear of Wycombe, albeit having played one more game. The Royals did their neighbours a favour though, defeating Wrexham 2-0 to keep them behind Wanderers heading into Saturday.
This could prove to have a big impact on Saturday's fixture, as Wycombe go into it in the driving seat. A positive result for the Welsh club last night could've seen them go into the all-important fixture with the upper hand, as they would've been ahead in the table and therefore happier to settle for a point than Wycombe to maintain the gap, meaning they don't have to push hard to break Wycombe down, instead aiming to frustrate them.
In the wake of last night's result, this has created the ideal scenario for Dodds’ men. We know how solid the Blues are defensively, so a draw would suit them more than Wrexham. This also means that the Red Dragons will have to come at Wycombe, which will suit the hosts and allow them more avenues of attack. By no means will the Chairboys sit in and play for a point, but this will prevent desperation from creeping in, which will favour the hosts.
