The WSL returns after the international break today, with a full fixture list to enjoy.
Keep checking back here for all the updates.
Scorers: Beever-Jones 14′, Cuthbert 43′, Reiten 45+1, Kaptein 82′, Lawrence 83′
Chelsea were in total control as they breezed to a 5-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
This was always going to be a big ask for the winless Toffees, and Chelsea were ahead after just 14 minutes when a top-class looping ball into the box from Kadeisha Buchanan was headed in by Aggie Beaver-Jones.
Just before half-time, Sonia Bompastor’s side went for the jugular, as determined piece of play inside the box from Erin Cuthbert allowed her to get her shot away and add Chelsea’s second.
Everton had barely kicked off before Chelsea had their third, when Sjoeke Nüsken supplied another excellent cross for Guro Reiten to slide in and the back post and guide it into the back of the net.
Into the second half and there was an element of managing the game from Chelsea, but they added two in quick succession with less than ten minutes to go.
The first was a sublime finish from Wieke Kaptein who displayed perfect technique as she leaned one way and bent the ball into the back of the net the other.
And with the Everton defence still reeling, Ashley Lawrence tapped home from a ball into the box from Oriane Jean-François.
Chelsea now sit just one point behind Manchester City in the table, with a game in hand over their rivals.
Scorers: Hinds 26′, 43′; Nunes 49′
Liverpool held on to a 2-1 win over Aston Villa despite an improved second half performance from the home side.
Robert de Pauw’s side were without a win all season before the visit of Liverpool, and they soon found themselves a goal behind.
That came courtesy of Taylor Hinds, Villa leaving her unmarked running into the box, which allowed the full-back to smash home an emphatic finish.
Less than twenty minutes later, the Villa defence made exactly the same mistake as Hinds was alone on the left-hand side, running into the box to slide the ball into the back of the net for her brace.
Into the second half and Liverpool were too passive in allowing the home side a sustained attack, and when substitute Lucy Staniforth looped a cross to the far post, Gabi Nunes was there to head home.
Villa sit joint-bottom of the WSL alongside West Ham and Everton with just two points.
Scorers: Russo 64′; Malard 82′
Manchester United remain unbeaten in the WSL as they came back to grab a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Leigh Sports Village.
Ex-Man Utd forward Alessia Russo was lively from the get-go, and had two chances to score in the opening quarter of an hour against her former side.
Yet she had to wait until the hour mark had passed before she got off the mark, a perfectly weighted pass from Mariona Caldentey allowing Emily Fox to square the ball to Russo, who made no mistake in firing home.
Man Utd weren’t ready to lie down though, and it was substitute Rachel Williams who made her usual impact from the bench, winning the flick-on from a corner to allow Melvine Malard to equalise after Arsenal stopper Daphne van Domselaar made a mess of coming to claim.
Katie McCabe was lucky not to be sent off when she kicked the ball away late on when already on a yellow card.
The result keeps Man Utd two points ahead of the Gunners in the table.
Scorers: Park 40′, Roord 50′, Shaw 73′
Manchester City ran out 3-0 winners away to Crystal Palace, keeping them in top spot.
It took the league leaders 40 minutes to break the deadlock, and they did so in some style as Jess Park chipped a sensational effort from well outside the box beyond goalkeeper Shae Yañez.
The visitors doubled their lead when Jill Roord ran onto a loose ball in acres of space inside the box and slammed her finish into the back of the net.
Park then turned provider as a lofted cross from the right-hand side was met by a bullet header from Bunny Shaw.
The three points means that Chelsea would not be able to knock Gareth Taylor’s side off the top even if they win against Everton in the evening kick off.
Scorers: Ueki 37′; England 51′, Sáez 90+2
An unfortunate stoppage time own goal from Camila Sáez gave Tottenham all three points against struggling West Ham.
West Ham’s Riko Ueki got off the mark for the season when she headed through a crowd of players from a corner, high into the back of the net.
Into the second half and Spurs were back on level terms when she finished a tricky chance from close range that popped up onto her right foot after it had taken a touch on her left.
The Hammers thought they’d secured a point, until the own goal from Sáez gifted Spurs the points.
That result means West Ham sit bottom of the league with no wins from their opening six games.
Scorers: Paris 20′
A goal from Nikita Paris was enough for Brighton to see off Leicester at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton took the lead after a neat chipped ball into the box began a move that was finished by the head of Nikita Paris.
That win puts the Seagulls two points clear of Manchester United in fourth, with four wins and a draw from their opening six games.
