The scorer of the first-ever Women's Super League goal is set to be inducted into its Hall of Fame.

Gilly Flaherty produced the competition's maiden strike when Arsenal ran out 1-0 winners over Chelsea in the opening game on 13 April 2011.

The former defender won back-to-back titles with the Gunners before embarking on spells with Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool before retiring in January 2023.

Flaherty becomes the second WSL Hall of Fame inductee of 2024 after former Arsenal teammate Alex Scott.
