AC Milan and Inter are, perhaps, the clubs with the greatest level of intertwinement – after all, they share San Siro. However, the connection seems to go further than once imagined, at least in the stands.

Talk of the investigation into Milan’s Curva Sud and the Nerazzurri’s own Curva Nord has been persistent in recent times, and there are no signs of things slowing down anytime soon with interviews beginning to be conducted.

Yesterday, Simone Inzaghi was spoken to by the Prosecutor’s Office, and today, Javier Zanetti – the vice-president of the club – has been interviewed, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News).

The first revelation from the interview is the Argentine’s denial of informing anyone of the investigation being done by the police – according to the report, ‘Marco Materazzi told Marco Ferdico [the current head of the Curva Nord] that he had learned from Zanetti himself about the investigations launched on the curves of the Milanese clubs. When asked about the issue, Zanetti denied it’.

Additionally, Zanetti told investigators that he had spoken with ‘base management’ about ticketing enquiries, whilst also stating he ‘never suffered pressure, threats, intimidation’ and that the organisation never did anything wrong to the club.

It is believed the interview lasted for around 90 minutes.
