The American gave his thoughts about the Terriers' EFL Trophy defeat to Doncaster Rovers on his X account.
Huddersfield Town's return to life in League One has not been as smooth sailing as first hoped, with the club currently seventh in the table.
Michael Duff's side have won three of their four league games so far this season, but performances have been less than exciting, and more would have been expected of the former Premier League team.
Their Carabao Cup journey ended in the second round, following a 3-2 defeat to League Two Walsall after they eased past Morecambe in the first stage of the competition.
However, their most recent game before they were forced into the international break was one of bitter disappointment. The Terriers were beaten 2-1 by fellow Yorkshire club Doncaster Rovers at the Eco-Power Stadium, their third loss in three matches.
With supporters wanting an instant return to the Championship, the execution of Duff's game plan must improve in the coming weeks, otherwise Huddersfield run the risk of losing touch with the top sides in the division.
Although in recent weeks the team has not been at its best, comments on social media from the Terriers' owner will not have helped.
Kevin Nagle bought Huddersfield in June 2023, and oversaw the club's first relegation to the third tier in 21 years last season.
After the recent defeat to Doncaster, the American took to his X account scolding the team's performance. He wrote: "Not good enough!! Cup or league we need to do better.
"From the players on up and right back down this is NOT the standard. Glad to have a bit of time to work on the issues and come back strong.
"I have full confidence in Michael and the lads to get right back in form. Still in good standing, need to build and never look back. UTT"
His comments have not been well received, particularly by former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke, who expressed his views on the situation on the What The EFL?! Podcast episode 'Radio 4 Playhouse present; Robins at the Vicarage'.
When asked what he thought of Nagle's post, Clarke said: "Zip it, Kev. Come on. Just leave it to the gaffer.
"You don't understand football like he does, like the players do. Just leave it. But yeah, the whole not good enough, exclamation mark, exclamation mark, it's not going to be helpful, is it?
"It's going to prompt the local journalist, for a start, to confront Michael Duff. What do you think about this? What do you think about the owner saying not good enough we need to do better?
"And he's going to have to field those questions, which is totally unnecessary. Yeah, just, yes, it's good to support and what not. But I think the criticism side of things from owners and chairman should be kept in house, actually, because it just sort of fans the flames too much."
The last few games have been tough for Duff and Huddersfield, and they potentially started due to the nature of their defeat to local rivals Rotherham United in their most recent League One fixture.
However, they now have the chance to put that late winner for the Millers behind them against Bolton Wanderers.
The Trotters have struggled this season following their play-off final defeat to Oxford United in May, and have won just one game in the league so far.
Away from home, Huddersfield have the chance to give their travelling fans something to cheer, and make their way into the top six - a situation that can only delight their owner.
The international break can be used as a positive if they react in the proper manner, and put in a professional performance at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and take all three points back to Yorkshire with them.
