Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall made slight contact with Bayindir’s left arm, but this should not have prevented him from making a save.

There was no VAR on the night, but we don’t believe the goal would have been chalked off on review.

In our opinion, Bayindir may have played his last game for United. He could depart when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The 26-year-old has cut a frustrated figure with his lack of playing time and reports have claimed that he plans to leave the Red Devils.

His performance last night is unlikely to improve his starting prospects. United could be prepared to replace him as well next month.

The Red Devils have opened talks for Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, who recently won the Serie A and Copa Libertadores titles.

He has been identified as someone who could provide competition for places with Andre Onana which Bayindir has failed to do.

The 28-year-old is a good ball-playing goalkeeper like Onana, but possesses better reflexes and has an aerial presence at 197cms.

Victor had a save percentage of 79 percent in the recent league campaign which is more than Onana’s average of 68 percent.

Bayindir could be offloaded next month to facilitate the arrival of Victor.
