FC Barcelona are set to take on Real Valladolid in La Liga as they look to continue their push for the Spanish top-flight title. The Catalan club has a four-point lead over Real Madrid and will want to get the three points ahead of El Clásico next weekend.
Rotations are set to be the order of the day for Hansi Flick with an important Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan on the horizon. The first leg between the two sides ended in a 3-3 draw, and Barcelona have to take a trip to the San Siro and get a favorable result.
Thus, Flick’s challenge for tonight’s game would be to identify the right balance between resting the starters for the Inter Milan game while also ensuring that the club doesn’t miss out on the three points against Valladolid tonight.
One player that we at Sempre Barca think should start for Barcelona tonight is Pablo Torre. A forgotten figure, the number of options in midfield has meant that the Spanish midfielder has hardly gotten opportunities in recent times.

Whenever Pablo Torre has been given a rare chance this season, he has almost always impressed and put in a display that catches the eye. He is very similar to Dani Olmo and excels at playing in between the lines and dictating the game.
The young Spaniard might not be the best asset for Hansi Flick out of possession, but when you consider the quality that he adds on the ball, it is quite incredible. Against Valladolid, Torre would be crucial for creativity in the potential absence of players like Lamine and Pedri.
Players like Torre, who are young and still developing, need game time to showcase their talent at the highest level, and should Flick decide to give him a start tonight, the €7.5 million-rated youngster will have to make sure to take his chance.
An added advantage with Torre is that he is one of the best set-piece takers in the squad, and this could add a new dimension to Flick’s team. It remains to be seen if Hansi Flick does give him a chance tonight, and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
