Manchester City booked their place in the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday. Now they have learned their opponent for the next stage of the competition. A tricky trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth awaits Pep Guardiola’s side in the next stage of the FA Cup. It promises to be a tough fixture for Manchester City against a Bournemouth side who have impressed this season.
Bournemouth booked their place in the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup with a penalty shootout victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The game finished 1-all after extra time. Andoni Iraola’s side has impressed this season and is packed with quality. Players such as Evanilson, Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo, Milos Kerkez and more will test Pep Guardiola’s side. Bournemouth did beat Manchester City 2-1 earlier this season at the Vitality Stadium off the back of goals from Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson. Based on that result a tricky test awaits the world champions.
The FA Cup represents the only chance for Manchester City to pick up silverware this season. But to do that they must beat high-flying Bournemouth on the weekend of the 29/30th of March.
