The representatives of Manchester City players are making initial strides in an attempt to cater for their clients’ best interests amid concerns around the club’s 115 charges.

The hearing into the Premier League champions’ 115 charges for alleged breaches of the English top-flight’s financial rules began on Monday, with the Etihad Stadium club first issued with the charges in February 2023.

Those charges followed a four-year investigation by the Premier League over alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018, with the English top-flight in turn referring Manchester City to an independent commission.

In direct response to the matter, and in a stance that has been maintained through to the start of the independent hearing, Manchester City strongly deny all the charges and have said that their own case is supported by a “comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence”.

But as uncertainty continues to grow over what the future could hold for Manchester City, as the trial is held behind-closed-doors and in secret, representatives of Etihad Stadium stars are getting to work to ensure that their clients’ best interest are looked after.

That is according to the information of MailSport’s Sami Mokbel, who reports that representatives of players within Manchester City’s squad have ‘begun exploring their options’ amid the looming threat of enforced relegation via the ongoing 115 charges case.

With a hearing now ongoing in front of an independent commission, the report states that agents are keen to hear Manchester City’s plans and be informed of the options open to them if the worst-case scenario occurs in the coming months.

No specific representatives or player names are mentioned in the report, however a number of stars within the club are naturally addressing their futures regardless of the ongoing case, due to their contractual agreements expiring, or in need of improvement.

Among those names is Kevin De Bruyne, who is into the final year of his latest Manchester City deal. The Belgian will have a decision to make very soon, as City look to iron out what his plans are for the future amid Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer interest.

Additionally, all of Ederson, Ruben Dias, Phil Foden, and Erling Haaland are all in line for contractual improvements, and Manchester City are expected to intensify their pursuit of fresh signatures in the coming weeks and months.
