Amidst another turbulent campaign for Manchester United overall, Amad Diallo is overseeing his most prolific term to date as a Red.
While the Ivorian livewire is yet to reach the goal contribution tally he recorded at Sunderland (14 goals and four assists), he’s already on a tremendous six goals and seven assists in all competitions – and is doing so at the highest level.
Nine of those contributions have come in the Premier League alone, proving that he’s able to perform to such an impeccable standard in Europe’s most competitive league.
Last night, he came to United’s rescue yet again. Amad was in the right place at the perfect time to convert a close-range effort from Alejandro Garnacho’s driven cross vs Liverpool, sealing a crucial point on the road after such a torrid run of results.
In doing so, Amad became not only the second player – after Lisandro Martinez’s opener – to score at Anfield since December 2018, but he also broke a remarkable 10-year record of being just the third Red in United’s history to score away to Liverpool and Manchester City in a single season.

He’s in esteemed company, too, as the only two other players to have done so are Wayne Rooney in 2004/2005 and Robin van Persie in 2012/2013.
The 22-year-old’s winner at the Etihad in December was nothing short of spectacular, and it came just two minutes after his clever play had resulted in him being fouled and winning a late penalty for Bruno Fernandes to equalise.
It’s safe to say Amad has now cemented his place in Ruben Amorim’s starting XI, and it’s long overdue after he had been bizarrely overlooked by Erik ten Hag week in, week out.
His stellar efforts have him on the verge of being awarded an improved, long-term contract with the club, with INEOS keen to fend off any potential outside interest.
