La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Carlo Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, which means he won’t be on the Merengues’ bench at the Club World Cup.

Former Italy international Ancelotti, the most successful coach in Real Madrid’s history, will not coach the La Liga giants at the Club World Cup this summer.

Xabi Alonso is seen as the most likely candidate to replace Ancelotti at the Bernabeu, while the Brazil Football Federation is still courting the Italian tactician ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Ancelotti said in one of his latest interviews that he “didn’t want to know” about his future at Real Madrid, but insisted he would always be grateful to the club, regardless of any decision they made.

The Italian tactician returned to the Bernabéu for a second stint in 2021, winning the Champions League twice since then.

He had already lifted the most important European club competition in 2014 – the famous Decima – after two triumphs with Milan.
