Andre Onana takes defiant stance on Man Utd future

Andre Onana will resist any attempt from Manchester United to sell him this summer, a report has revealed.
Onana has endured a mixed 18 months at Old Trafford following his £47.2m switch from Ajax in 2023, with a handful of high-profile mistakes overshadowing some impressive runs of form in the United goal.
Reports claim new head coach Ruben Amorim has grown frustrated with Onana and is pushing for a new goalkeeper to be signed this summer. Royal Antwerp stopper Senne Lammens has been linked and has publicly admitted he would consider the move.
However, in a blow to United's attempts to sign a new goalkeeper, ESPN state Onana intends to do his best to remain with the Red Devils this summer.
Onana wants to remain United's starting goalkeeper and is not looking to leave the club. He will reject all approaches, even lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League, in favour of fighting for his future in Manchester.

The only thing that could impact Onana's decision would be a firm message from either Amorim or United that he is surplus to requirements and will no longer play for the club, at which point he would consider his options.
At least one new goalkeeper will likely be signed this summer as third-choice Tom Heaton and backup Altay Bayindir are both expected to leave, but the profile of stopper United will be able to sign without first offloading Onana may be limited.
United need to sell players before making any significant investments and must recover a significant portion of their initial outlay on Onana to avoid making a loss, given he remains at the club until 2028.
The Red Devils have already admitted they are in danger of breaching the Premier League's Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR) and will be reluctant to accept further losses when it comes to sales this summer.
